The Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister’s Office, Arayik Harutyunyan, highlighted positive dynamics in the relationship with Azerbaijan amid the ongoing normalization process.
Speaking to reporters, Harutyunyan said that intensive contacts with Azerbaijan are ongoing on all issues.
“They concern a wide range of topics. For example, [Deputy PM] Mher Grigoryan is working on the delimitation and demarcation agenda, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is handling its respective agenda, the Security Council is involved, and [Secretary] Armen Grigoryan is coordinating with his counterpart. This includes humanitarian issues and all other matters. When results are achieved, we report on them. The current pace of the Armenia-Azerbaijan process and relations is not bad. For example, Azerbaijan recently lifted its ban on the [transit] of Armenian goods,” he said.
According to the official, the final signing of a peace agreement is a constant topic in bilateral contacts. He added that efforts should be made to find common ground so that the document can be signed as soon as possible.
