The US president expressed that he is looking forward to having the hostages come home to their parents, and also recognized the hostages who won't come back alive, The Jerusalem Post reports.
US President Donald Trump believes that a ceasefire deal between Hamas and Israel is in its final stages, Trump released a statement on Friday on Truth Social.
While thanking Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and "so many others" for their role in the deal, he shared that "many people fought so hard" to see the hostages returned and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
"This is a big day, we'll see how it all turns out; We have to get the final word down," he said.
The US president also expressed that he is looking forward to having the hostages come home to their parents, and also recognized the hostages who won't come back alive.
"Some of thehostages, unfortunately, you know the condition they're in, come home likewise to their parents," he said. "Their parents wanted them just as much as the young women and men who are alive."
"This is a very special day, unprecedented in many ways. Everybody was unified in wanting this war to end and seeing peace in the Middle East, and we are very close to achieving that."
He concluded by assuring that "everybody will be treated fairly."
