Armenia’s Minister of Economy received Brendan Hanrahan, Director of the US State Department’s Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, for a meeting focused on strengthening economic ties between Armenia and the United States. Deputy Minister Anushik Avetian and US Ambassador to Armenia Kristina Kvien were also in attendance.
The discussions covered prospects for expanding economic cooperation and increasing bilateral trade. The two sides reviewed opportunities to deepen collaboration across several key sectors, including trade and investment, agriculture and food safety, energy, high technologies and innovation, IT and the digital economy, as well as tourism.
Both parties emphasized the importance of advancing mutually beneficial cooperation and reaffirmed their readiness to continue joint efforts to strengthen economic ties, improve the investment climate, and promote new initiatives.
Minister of Economy highlighted Armenia’s strong interest in the TRIPP communication program and proposed developing projects within a public-private partnership (PPP) framework to attract private investment. He also suggested drafting a detailed roadmap for the program’s implementation.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the “Crossroads of Peace” initiative. The Minister stressed that the project is not only aimed at boosting economic connectivity but also at promoting peace and stability in the region, contributing to enhanced regional cooperation and reducing tensions.
Finally, the Minister underlined Armenia’s appreciation for US expertise and support in modernizing infrastructure and strengthening border security.
