Ukraine and Europe must be at the negotiating table, Kaja Kallas, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, said in a studio interview on the ERR news show ’Aktuaalne Kaamera’.
She was speaking after the Zoom meeting of EU foreign ministers ahead of the meeting between the US and Russian presidents on Friday in Alaska.
The foreign ministers expressed support for Ukraine but a joint statement was not adopted due to opposition from Hungary.
Kallas stressed that nothing must go over Ukraine’s head, saying that Ukraine or Europe should be included in the agreement and it is not good for America's credibility if they agree to something that cannot subsequently be guaranteed.
