Baku has refused to participate in the 23rd session of the interparliamentary commission with the Russian Federation.
The delegation led by the first deputy speaker of the Milli Mejlis, Ali Akhmedov, will not travel to Moscow.
Azerbaijani media outlets note: “The reason is the show killings of Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg by Russian security forces without trial or investigation, as well as the recent systematic nature of such incidents.”
All cultural events organized by Russian state and private institutions in Azerbaijan have been canceled, the country's Ministry of Culture reported on X.
These include concerts, festivals, performances, exhibitions and other events.
Recall that on June 28, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry summoned the chargé d'affaires of the Russian Embassy and lodged a "strong protest" with him.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry expressed concern over the June 27 attack on the homes of Azerbaijanis in Yekaterinburg by the Russian Federal Security Service, which resulted in the deaths of their compatriots and the serious injuries of some, as well as the arrest of 9 people.
