Russia is concerned about the expansion of the activities of the European Union mission in Armenia, and the participation of Canadian representatives in it speaks of the creeping penetration of NATO into the South Caucasus, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin stated.
According to him, the European Union is trying to strengthen itself in the South Caucasus to the detriment of the interests of Russia, Iran and Turkey. According to Galuzin, Moscow is also concerned about the fact that the mission is changing from temporary to permanent.
At the same time, the Russian diplomat said that no tangible results of the work of the EU observers can be seen. "There is every reason to believe that the West is collecting intelligence data on Russian facilities, as well as on all neighboring states of Armenia," said Galuzin.
He once again expressed his belief that stable peace in the South Caucasus can be achieved only on the basis of the implementation of the trilateral agreements of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia for 2020-2022.
