Heavy rain caused significant flooding in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, forcing people to wade through muddy floodwaters and vehicles to be partially submerged, Reuters reports.
The rainfall disrupted the lives of Cariocas, footage recorded by a witness shows.
According to local media Globo, at least eight people died in Rio during the storm on Wednesday, with two deaths in Japeri, two in Nova Iguaçu, in the Baixada Fluminense region and four more in Barra do Pirai, south of Rio.
