There are 38 sanctions regimes in the EU, which are used as a legal basis for the development of sanctions, 21 of which Moldova has already acceded to.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, said that in the near future Chisinau would revise the list of EU sanctions against the Russian Federation in order to join some of them. It is reported by Newsmaker.
“It was decided that Moldova would not immediately join certain restrictive measures, including sanctions. Now we are re-evaluating some of the decisions taken earlier and will present new ones in the near future. For now, we are analyzing how Moldova will react in certain sectors. Our position on sanctions is absolutely clear. Our degree of adherence to the sanctions will increase significantly,” the minister said.
Popescu also noted that there are 38 sanctions regimes in the EU, which are used as a legal basis for the development of sanctions, Moldova has already joined 21 of them.
