The release of the last four Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan gives us hope for the release of the remaining 19 detainees who are still there, as well as for clarifying the fate of the missing within the framework of this cooperation. This will undoubtedly be a significant contribution to reconciliation, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, stated during a session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
In the context of strengthening regional peace, the Foreign Minister also spoke about Armenia–Turkey relations.
“Armenia remains firmly committed to the full normalization of relations with Turkey and to continued progress in the Armenia–Turkey normalization process, including the full opening of the border, the establishment of diplomatic relations, and the restoration of the Gyumri–Kars railway. These steps will make an important contribution to strengthening regional stability and prosperity,” he said.
