Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that it is a profound honor for him to receive the highest award of Kazakhstan, which he described as a brotherly nation for Armenia.
The Prime Minister said that receiving the award from an experienced statesman and political figure like President Tokayev is a great honor.
Pashinyan highlighted that Tokayev’s assessments carry special significance.
“You are a person who has made a tangible contribution to contemporary international politics, and seeing the situation from your assessment’s perspective is extremely important, because every development requires evaluation and reassessment,” Pashinyan said.
He also underscored the political significance of his visit to Kazakhstan.
“As a result of this official visit, relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan reach the level of strategic partnership, which provides a new springboard for the further development of our relations,” Pashinyan stated.
Pashinyan has praised Kazakhstan for its important role in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“Kazakhstan provided a platform for the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan to meet in Alma-Ata at a very important time, and those negotiations were crucial for further developments,” Pashinyan said at a joint press conference with President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The Prime Minister also recalled that the Alma-Ata Declaration now forms the basis of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“This document carries both concrete political significance and symbolic importance,” Pashinyan added.
Pashinyan noted that after the peace summit held in Washington on August 8, 2025, he personally called Tokayev to update him about the important negotiations.
“It was also an expression of my appreciation for your personal support during this period, as well as Kazakhstan’s support,” Pashinyan emphasized.
