“Brussels should not resemble Soviet Moscow, we need arguments regarding everything,” georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in response to an EC letter from Brussels, 1tv.ge reports.
According to the head of government, laws related to family values, protection of minors’ interests, and transparency “are very important for Georgia.”
“We have a very clear answer to Brussels regarding every point.
When it comes to prisoners, we have a very clear answer that each of these prisoners committed a specific crime.
If they have any legal questions regarding any case, they should prove it and provide evidence. Of course, such questions do not exist. Accordingly, these are empty political ultimatums, which is very unfortunate,” the Prime Minister stated.
The European Commission Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs on Wednesday sent a letter to Maka Botchorishvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, urging government to implement recommendations, including repealing laws on transparency of foreign influence, family values.
