The most important message was the following - negotiations will not open for Georgia in December if this draft law becomes a law, - one of the leaders of EuroOptimists Khatia Dekanoidze said after meeting with the chairmen of the foreign affairs committees of several EU member states, ipn reports.
As Dekanoidze points out, there will be no progress in the direction of Georgia's European integration under the conditions of Georgian Dream.
"It was a very solid, very rigid and specific message, which will probably be voiced publicly. There was both an offer and an opinion from our side, and I have been of this opinion for a long time, that all those people, together with Bidzina Ivanishvili, who hinder Georgia's European future and vote for Russian legislation, their travel and movement in the European Union, the United States of America and in different directions should be sanctioned and restricted, which, of course, many of my colleagues also agree with.
The third message was that the opposition will not consider any modification of this legislation. This "Russian law" should be dropped, that is, withdrawn, which our international partners agree with. In principle, the statement of the President of Georgia was very timely.
The fourth message was that the very important decisions in the EU resolution, including even the candidate status and the suspension of the visa liberalization process, do not need a big consensus on anything in particular. For example, visa liberalization can be suspended by the decision of the European Commission and the European Council, therefore, any decision harmful to the European integration of Georgia, which Bidzina Ivanishvili has been making for a long time, will be considered as sabotage of European integration and, of course, as strengthening of Russian influence," Dekanoidze said.
