A knowledge sharing event was recently held within the framework of Italy-Armenia exchanges in wine and viticulture at Alluria Wines for wine exporting SMEs involved in exchanges with Italy.
The keynote speaker was internationally renowned expert Carmelo Sgandurra, founder of Zosimo Critic and Wine Ratings, a platform that serves thousands of wine distributors and buyers. The speaker first presented the significant global transformations currently taking place in this sector and highlighted emerging trends. He then provided valuable insights gathered by Zosimo’s worldwide network and detailed key considerations for developing relevant export strategies. An open dialogue on these and related topics such as key elements of export readiness and developing a distinct identity for Armenian wines ensued.
The event was moderated by Hrach Kaspar who also talked about the significant outcome of winemaking exchanges since 2006 in the scientific, educational and technical spheres.
On this occasion a message was read from Conegliano’s Cerletti Institute for Winemaking situated in the iconic Prosecco region on its readiness to undertake educational exchanges involving young winemaking experts.
A greetings letter was also received on this occasion from the Confraternita del Raboso Piave, one of the main counterparts of exchanges with the Province of Treviso, which recorded past exchanges with Armenian winemakers and reported on recent events dedicated to Armenian winemaking held in Treviso within the framework of Instituto Cerletti’s 150th anniversary celebrations.
As part of the mission, the Zosimo representative visited four Armenian wineries and met with the Vine and Wine Foundation to deliberate on future directions.
