US Vice President JD Vance on Monday confirmed that the United States expects the Strait of Hormuz to remain open, toll-free, as part of a long-term framework.
In an interview with CNBC, Vance noted that while a deal has been reached between the US and Iran to halt military operations and reopen the waterway, many technical details are still being finalised. He indicated that these matters will be the subject of upcoming discussions.
Additionally, Vance stated that Iran’s foreign minister and the House speaker are expected to represent Iran at the formal signing of the agreement in Switzerland this coming Friday.
