In his interventions, Ambassador Hovhannisyan commended the work of UNDP and UNFPA in advancing sustainable development, resilience, demographic policy, the empowerment of women and girls, humanitarian response and support for vulnerable populations. He reaffirmed Armenia’s support for the mandates of both agencies and highlighted the importance of predictable financing, effective country-level delivery and continued partnership with programme countries.
Addressing discussions under the UN80 initiative, Ambassador Hovhannisyan stressed that reforms should enhance effectiveness and country-level impact while preserving mandates, expertise and operational delivery. He emphasized that any transition process should avoid disruption to ongoing programmes and ensure that resources and management capacities remain focused on results. He reaffirmed Armenia’s support for a transparent, inclusive and evidence-based process led by Member States.
