The European Union Ambassador to Baku, Mariyana Kuyuncic, was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. The ambassador was handed a note of protest regarding the resolution adopted by the European Parliament on April 30.
It was noted that the provisions of the resolution distort reality, contradict the principles of objectivity, as well as the obligations to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, such an approach of the European Parliament negatively affects the settlement process in the region, as well as the prospects for relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union.
