The most reliable guarantee of security is peace. This applies to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, and all countries, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a briefing, addressing a question about whether he agrees with the National Assembly speaker’s view that Armenia is a guarantor of Azerbaijan’s security just as Azerbaijan is a guarantor of Armenia’s security.
“So what is the peculiarity here? It is that a certain understanding of regional security can be formed, which, in my opinion, is good, because there is no such thing as security in a single country taken in isolation. Every country must have its own internal systems, its own security mechanisms, but the broader the perception of security, the better. For example, is peace a guarantee of security for Armenia and Azerbaijan, or is it not? Of course, it is. And between whom is that peace concluded? Between Armenia and Azerbaijan. For whom is that peace concluded? For themselves. But by concluding it for themselves, they also create a certain security leverage for the other side,” he said.
