US Embassy to Yerevan published the Joint Statement on the Completion of Negotiations on an Agreement for Peaceful Nuclear Cooperation Between the United States of America and the Republic of Armenia on its website.
The statement reads:
The Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Armenia have completed negotiations on an Agreement for Cooperation Concerning Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy (“123 Agreement”).
The completion of these negotiations represents a critical step toward fulfilling the goal of deepening bilateral civil nuclear cooperation as a key pillar of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Armenia regarding an Energy Security Partnership, signed at Washington D.C. on August 8, 2025.
This 123 Agreement will enhance bilateral cooperation on energy security, strengthen longstanding diplomatic and economic relationships between the two countries, and provide a comprehensive legal framework for nuclear energy cooperation. The Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Armenia look forward to developing a robust, mutually beneficial civil nuclear energy partnership in the years to come.
The Government of the United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Armenia intend to proceed with their respective internal review and approval procedures, as well as any other legal steps, required prior to the signature and entry into force of the 123 Agreement.
