On February 6, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia to the United States, within the framework of events marking the 250th anniversary of the United States, and in partnership with the international organization “Care for Children”, hosted an international conference titled “Journey of Reform for Children in Care.” The conference brought together senior officials and experts from the United States, the United Kingdom, Nepal, Iceland and India to discuss policies aimed at development of the foster care system.
Narek Mkrtchyan, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the United States delivered opening remarks emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in the field of child welfare and highlighted the notable progress achieved by the Republic of Armenia in this sector.
The keynote speaker of the conference was Iain Duncan Smith, Member of the UK Parliament.
In his remarks, Robert Glover, Founder and Executive Director of “Care for Children”, presented the achievements to date, highlighting Armenia as an exemplary country and expressing gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Armenia for its cooperation and leadership.
Presentations were also delivered by Amy Celico, Chief Executive Officer of the Schwarzman Education Foundation and Board Member of Care for Children U.S., as well as Ilaria Chan, Founding Chairwoman of the Tech For Good Institute and a trustee of Care for Children.
