The leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan have become my friends, U.S. President Donald Trump said at the signing ceremony of the Board of Peace charter in Davos.
“They are my friends. Every member of the Board of Peace is my friend. Usually, there are a few people I don’t like. But not this time. I really like this whole group,” Trump added.
Trump said he wants the newly established Board of Peace to operate in cooperation with the United Nations. At the same time, he criticized the UN for failing to meet global expectations.
“I have always said that the United Nations has enormous potential. It has not yet used that potential, but it is enormous,” the White House chief added.
Referring to Iran, Trump said that military operations against the country during the summer had completely destroyed the Islamic Republic’s nuclear potential.
“Iran wants and will negotiate,” the U.S. president stressed.
He added that many positive developments are taking place and that threats facing Europe, the United States, and the Middle East are indeed decreasing.
