On the eve of the New Year, the deadline of the agreement signed on March 10 between the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and the President of Syria expired. The parties stated that they had not reached final agreement on a number of provisions.
On Tuesday at midday, clashes erupted between the Syrian army and Kurdish internal security forces in Aleppo’s Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh districts. A temporary ceasefire was announced in the evening.
According to the Military Operations Council of the Syrian army, a resumption of clashes is expected today in the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafiyeh districts after 3:00 p.m. local time. State authorities have opened humanitarian corridors at the “Avaret” and “Shareh Az-Zuhur” checkpoints to ensure the safe evacuation of the local population.
The Military Operations Council has announced a curfew starting today at 3:00 p.m. until further notice. This was reported by Lurer correspondent Zarmik Poghikyan in Aleppo.
In order to ensure the safety of the Armenian population living in areas adjacent to the clashes, the National Prelacy announced that the basement hall of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church is available to Armenians as a temporary shelter until the situation stabilizes.

In the event that medical assistance is required, the New Village dispensary (clinic) of the Syrian Armenian Relief Cross has announced that it will keep its doors open until morning, with doctors present on site to provide necessary medical care.
