On January 6, the Armenian Apostolic Church celebrates the first of the five major feasts of the year — the Feast of the Holy Nativity and Theophany of Jesus Christ. The celebration begins on January 5 with the Candlemas Divine Liturgy. The Candlemas Divine Liturgy is celebrated in all churches.
During the liturgy, the priest proclaims the good news of Christ’s birth, saying: “Christ is born and revealed.” After the Candlemas service, people take home the lamps lit in the church. They symbolize divine light and blessing.
The Prime Minister congratulated Armenians worldwide with a Psalm of David.
