Budapest hopes that Turkmenistan will become a gas supplier to Hungary in the near future, said Adam Stifter, Deputy Secretary of State for Eastern Affairs of Hungary, after a session of the Turkmen-Hungarian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation in Ashgabat. His statement was published on the website of the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company of Turkmenistan.
“In the energy sector, we trust Turkmenistan as a reliable partner. Hungary depends on natural gas imports from various countries, so we hope that Turkmenistan will soon become a gas supplier to Europe, and more precisely, to Hungary,” Stifter said.
