Deputies of Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between RA National Assembly and House of Representatives of Cyprus meet with delegation led by Annita Demetriou

On May 19, the deputies of the Inter-Parliamentary Committee on Cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia and the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus met with the delegation led by the President of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus Annita Demetriou, arrived in Armenia on an official visit.
 
Welcoming the guests, the Co-Chair of the Committee Hayk Konjoryan stressed the high-level political dialogue between Armenia and Cyprus, the fraternal relations between the two peoples and the inter-parliamentary ties. “You certainly know that as Cyprus supports Armenia on all the most important issues, so Armenia is next to Cyprus,” Hayk Konjoryan stressed.
 
In addition to political emphases, the Co-chair of the Committee Hayk Konjoryan underscored the important role of the Inter-Parliamentary Committees on Cooperation of the two countries. He touched upon the issue of opening Tumo Centre in Nicosia, expressing hope that the initiative will succeed.
 
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, the President of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus Annita Demetriou underlined that the feelings between the two countries and peoples are mutual, and Cyprus will continue its support to Armenia on various international platforms. “We love Armenians and Armenia,” Annita Demetriou stated.
 
During the meeting, issues of mutual interest and new opportunities of cooperation were addressed. The issue of having embassies in both countries was also discussed, and the work is already underway.
