Russia is ready to discuss solutions to the crisis with the EU, but any proposals should take into account the situation on the ground and have added value for Moscow, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in an interview with aif.ru, published on Thursday.
"The EU is seemingly seeking to undermine its economy completely - to appease the US - before accompanying its calls for dialogue with specific moves. As for us, we are open to discussing ways out of the current crisis. However, any proposals should take into account the situation on the ground and have added value for this country," the Russian diplomat said.
The latest change of tone in the rhetoric of the EU calling for dialogue and talks between Moscow and Kiev was never accompanied with any real efforts toward that, she lamented. "Unfortunately, all the EU’s steps, including the scheduled provision of military assistance for the Kiev regime, have been aimed at escalating things further rather than seeking a de-escalation or a political solution," Zakharova concluded.
